The Client
 
Our client is a leading, diversified natural resources group with worldwide activity in the mining, smelting, refining, processing and trading of metals and minerals, energy products and agricultural products. It is engaged in the physical trading of commodities on a global basis, purchasing physical commodities as principal, mostly from producers and selling and delivering these commodities to industrial consumers such as car manufacturers, steel mills, public utilities and flour mills. Our client also provides financing, logistics, marketing and purchasing services to producers and consumers of commodities. These activities are supported by strategic investments in industrial assets relating to the client's core physical trading business.


Project Background
 
Unit Management System (UMS) is mainly a module/system to replace ADS-Dealing System module, but also to provide much more than what exists in ADS-DS. One of the primary purposes of UMS is to help manage the units in the various positions. There are other various user requirements, which would be added to this UMS subsequently. The UMS system is to meet the dynamic business needs and so would include what-if, scenario analysis, queries and reports. The UMS would not only help in managing units and allocation but also in evaluation and the management of the forward positions.

TCGIvega was involved in a knowledge transfer of the existing system from the previous developers. This involved in the complete understanding of the working logic of the system and documentation of the same.
